In episode EAT06 of KPO’s European Astronomy Tour, we will explore the mysterious ancient observatory of Stonehenge in southern England. We’ll discuss the history and meaning of the placement of the individual stones in this amazing observatory.
This iconic monument of 160 rocks and stones dates back to a time before the Egyptians built the ancient pyramids. The monument remains as a marvel of ancient engineering. Stonehenge is made up of several kinds of rocks and standing stones, made of Sarson, sandstone taken from the local area, which is more dense than granite.
You can find our episode schedule on the main Tour page. As we are traveling around, I will be editing and uploading from the many hostels in which we will be staying, and the internet may be shaky, so visit the Tour page often to see any adjustments that may occur.
