These are Messier(s) 65 and 66 in Leo, more popularly known as two of the three galaxies in the Leo Triplet, or the “Trio in Leo”. The third is out of the frame of this image, and is cataloged as NGC 3628.
Messier 65 (NGC 3623) is an intermediate spiral galaxy about 35 million light-years away in the constellation Leo. It was discovered by Charles Messier in 1780.

Canon 60D with an Astronomik CLS filter, at the prime focus of the KPO 18″ Reflector. 32 frames of 120 seconds for a total integration time of 64 minutes. All frames captured at ISO 1600. Subframes captured and stacked in Nebulosity, processed in StarTools, and finished in Aperture.
